Public Comments Period Extended for Responsible AI: A Global Policy Framework

ITechLaw published Responsible AI: A Global Policy Framework, a book which provides guideposts based on thorough analysis of how to encourage the responsible development, deployment and use of artificial intelligence. 54 authors from 16 countries created this resource and accompanying framework around eight core principles:

  • Ethical Purpose and Societal Benefit,
  • Accountability,
  • Transparency and Explainability,
  • Fairness and Non-discrimination,
  • Safety and Reliability,
  • Open Data and Fair Competition,
  • Privacy, and
  • AI and Intellectual Property.

Stakeholders, including industry representatives, policy-makers, researchers, and the general public, are invited to read the publication and provide comments on the draft policy framework. The public comments period has been extended to October 25, 2019. Comments will be reviewed during the ITechLaw European Conference in Dublin. Interested delegates and committee members are encouraged to attend the workshop session on Friday, November 1, at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin.

Please submit your comments and feedback via our webform or by email to Comments will be considered by the authors and ITechLaw in anticipation of an updated second-edition of the policy framework, to be published before the end of 2019.
