About The Speakers

Jenna Karadbil, Law Offices of Jenna F. Karadbil, United States

Jenna F. Karadbil specializes in intellectual property, technology, privacy, advertising, sports, and entertainment law, offering both attorney and neutral services as an arbitrator and mediator. With experience representing clients in the US and internationally across various legal matters, her background as a former programmer and actress, and elite NCAA gymnast adds unique insights into her practice. Recognized for her expertise, she is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/US and has received accolades from Legal 500 and Super Lawyers®. Karadbil is actively involved in multiple legal organizations, including serving as Chair of the ABA-Intellectual Property Section’s USPTO Trademark Policy & Practice Committee and as Co-Chair of the NYSBA Technology Committee. She holds a B.S. and J.D. from the University of Arizona and is licensed in several states.

Molly Reynolds, Torys, Canada

Molly Reynolds leads the privacy, cybersecurity and data governance practice group at Torys. Her practice focuses on digital innovation, data protection, ethical AI, and privacy litigation. She regularly advises clients on privacy law compliance in their businesses and in the context of commercial transactions, as well as on data security best practices, breach response, regulatory investigations, and privacy class action defence. She represents clients in administrative proceedings under access to information, anti-spam, and privacy legislation, as well as in the context of civil litigation. Her dual call allows her to provide advice on personal information handling and marketing regimes that reflect and comply with Canadian and American privacy legislation.

Tom Lingard, Stevens & Bolton, England

Tom is a partner and Head of Intellectual Property at leading independent UK firm Stevens & Bolton LLP.

Tom helps clients protect and create value from technology and intellectual property; advising on strategy, management, enforcement, licensing and collaborations.  He also advises individuals and business on brand protection, image rights and reputation management.

A qualified solicitor advocate, Tom has been involved in landmark IP cases, and brings and defends infringement actions and oppositions at all levels of the UK courts and UKIPO.

Recent examples of his work include: representing a Premier League football club in all brand-protection matters; advising a leading holographic company on the creation of digital avatars of famous historical figures; and advising a global telecoms company on parody and image right issues in advertising campaigns.

Tom writes and is quoted on IP for many publications, has written columns for the Times newspaper and also appeared on Channel 4.

Thomas Rudkin, Farrer & Co., England – Moderator

Thomas has advised a full spectrum of individual, corporate and institutional clients on reputational and other similar risks, from mainstream media coverage to cyber security. In addition, he has extensive experience advising publishers on pre and post publication matters.

Thomas’ work is very diverse, he believes in a holistic approach to protecting his clients’ reputations. Thomas advises clients on all aspects of reputation and risk management, and media litigation, ranging from how they should respond to print and broadcast coverage, to online reputation management, crisis planning and cyber security issues. Key areas of law for Thomas’ advise include defamation, privacy, data protection, harassment, blackmail, trademark and copyright.

He has a particular focus on the sports sector, advising national and international federations, clubs and athletes on reputation management issues, regulatory matters, internal disciplinary procedures, arbitration and litigation.
