Veda Handa, a Senior Associate at the Technology Law, Public Policy and Regulatory Practice of Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. from India, was selected as this year’s Early-Career Scholarship recipient, awarded on behalf of Honorable Justice B.N. Srikrishna, Retired Supreme Court Justice.
She has nearly half a decade of experience in working with online businesses and helping them navigate evolving Indian regulatory landscape by providing commercial, policy and regulatory advice on data protection, e-commerce and intermediary liability laws. She provides end-to-end advice on all aspects of technology regulation-from design, structuring and launch of online products and services, to ongoing legal compliance for existing business operations, to engagement with regulatory authorities in the face of any enforcement actions. Her areas of interest specifically include online content regulation, e-gaming and digital platform accountability. Veda routinely works pro bono with innovators and start-ups and helps them commercialise and deploy their cutting-edge technology solutions for social good. She thus uses her experience for real world impact. Veda earned her primary law degree from National Law University, Delhi. She further graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School as a Dean’s Merit Scholar with an LLM in Intellectual Property and Technology Law. She is an enrolled member of the Delhi Bar Council. Congratulations, Veda!
