Pastora Valero
Director EU Public Policy, Cisco Systems; Diegem, Belgium
Pastora Valero is Director of EU Public Policy with Cisco and heads its EU Government
Affairs Team. She is responsible for developing and advancing Cisco’s technology and
communications policy agenda with the European Institutions and key policy makers.
Ms. Valero has almost two decades of experience in regulatory and public policy issues including areas such as telecommunications and information technology, trade, competition, smart grids and environment. Prior to Cisco, she was Vice-President of Regulatory Affairs for Global TeleSystems (GTS), a pan-European fiber optic network operator. She started her career as an Associate Lawyer in Van Bael & Bellis, a private firm in Brussels.
Ms. Valero is member of the Board of the FTTH Council Europe and the EABC (European
American Business Council). She is Vice-Chair of the Digital Economy Committee in
Amcham EU and Vice-Chair of the Regulatory Working Group in Digital Europe. Ms. Valero is a qualified lawyer in Spain, holds a Master’s degree in European law.
